Keimyung University signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Uiseong County on May 5 to foster the future advanced air mobility (AAM) industry and held a strategic planning seminar.
At the signing ceremony, held at the Uiseong Youth Cultural Center, Keimyung University and Uiseong County formed the “Uiseong Future Mobility Promotion Council” together with 13 leading mobility industry companies including Gaion, NarshaTech, Vololand, and VSpace.
Keimyung University will actively support R&D efforts in the AAM sector and help foster region-specific talent tailored to the needs of local industries. Uiseong County will provide administrative and financial support to establish an AAM infrastructure, attract companies, and cultivate local talent.
The participating companies agreed to cooperate in strengthening regional competitiveness in the AAM industry and to actively hire local talent to promote innovation-driven economic growth.
Following the signing ceremony, Keimyung University hosted a seminar and panel discussion on topics such as the K-UAM roadmap and directions for the Grand Challenge initiative, outlining Uiseong County’s strategic path forward.
Kim Dong-je, President of Keimyung University, stated,
“With the opening of a new airport in Uiseong, we hope to join forces in successfully building an AAM industry ecosystem, and we are committed to fostering local talent in the region.”
Meanwhile, Keimyung University and Uiseong County have maintained ongoing collaboration, having signed an earlier MOU at the end of last year to promote the aviation industry and nurture talent.
