Having been selected for the Ministry's 2024 Drone Demonstration City Project, Ulju County is accelerating its efforts to establish itself as a model drone city. The signing ceremony took place in the Topaz Room of the Best Western Plus Sejong, with representatives from the Ministry’s Aviation Policy Division, the Director of Advanced Aviation, the President of the Korea Institute of Aviation Safety Technology, and officials from 17 selected municipalities in attendance. Participants signed the MoU for joint cooperation among demonstration cities and discussed mutual collaboration strategies.

The Drone Demonstration City Project is a government initiative aimed at fostering and activating the drone industry by discovering and supporting various urban drone service models. With this selection, Ulju County—previously a participating institution in 2021 and 2023—will now serve as the lead institution for the third time, further enhancing its position as a drone standard city.

This year, Ulju County has formed a consortium with two partner organizations, Vololand and AMP, and will conduct demonstration projects through the end of November. Key areas of focus include drone-based delivery of goods to Ganwoljae, Sinbulsan Provincial Park Campground, and Jinha Beach, as well as illegal fishing control and fishery management in the fishing village of Seosaeng.
