(Ulsan = Yonhap News) Reporter Heo Gwang-mu – On the afternoon of the 12th, the city of Ulsan held a meeting with selected companies for the “2023 Design-Driven Manufacturing Innovation Center Support Project” at the Ulsan Design-Driven Manufacturing Innovation Center.
The meeting was arranged to ensure smooth progress of the project and was attended by 12 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) selected for the program.
Participating companies, including Motoway and Vololand, discussed strategies to strengthen the design competitiveness of SMEs.
They also voiced various difficulties they faced and called for improvements.
The Design-Driven Manufacturing Innovation Center Support Project provides tailored design support, including consulting, to help SMEs in materials, parts, and core manufacturing technologies develop new products.
Design outcomes are produced as prototypes using 3D printing, and full-cycle support is provided — from market development to product promotion — including participation in domestic and international exhibitions and obtaining design certifications.
An official from the city stated,
“We will support the development of design-driven products that lead to high value-added business and the creation of innovative new items, helping companies grow into design innovation leaders.”
